I had a visit from someone
It was the middle of the day
The type that took my breath
Yet made me want them to stay.
It was my mother stopping by to say
Son I'm proud of you
I never meant to go away
If you ever get the time to spare
Come and visit me
Because I'll always be here
It was quite a visit
After all these years
I was her first born
The guinea pig they say
Stood beside her bed when she went away
Felt her spirit make the final climb
I held her hand and cherished
Our journey through time
Can you ever really
Put a price on time
Tell me why it is
We ignore the clock that chimes
Is it ever possible
That we might find a way
To bring back a memory
One we want to stay
Maybe this is why
She came to me last night
Could it be the reason
That I'm basking in the light
The only thing that I truthfully know
Is that my mother
Just helped me to grow
I owe her everything
For the things I've been shown
She's a guiding light
And everything I've ever known
I forever cling to her memory
Work hard to be the man
She always wanted me to be
That's why I'm still here
And she is here for me
